We begin our journey under the stars at Parque de los Venados, trekking through the cool night air to reach the summit of Pico del Águila just as the first light breaks over the horizon. Watching the sun rise above the volcanic craters from this vantage point is a perspective few ever see. You’ll be accompanied by a professional geologist who will share not only the science behind the volcano’s formation but also the local legends and history that make this peak a sacred site in Mexican culture.
To keep things safe and simple, full insurance is included in your booking. A headlamp is required for the night portion of the hike - you can bring your own or rent one directly from us. We also have hiking poles available for rent if you’d like the extra support on the trails. It’s a challenging but rewarding push to the top that captures the raw, quiet beauty of the Mexican highlands at their most impressive hour.
